Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

Mykel Waide was looking forward to his first day as a college student at the University of Louisville on Monday. It is a day, and a whole future, that’s been taken away from him.

Former Tates Creek High School basketball player Mykel Waide became Lexington’s latest homicide victim overnight, according to the Fayette County coroner. The 18-year old was scheduled to begin classes this week as a freshman at U-of-L.

So many people have graciously asked how they can help. Aside from all the prayers as we cry uncontrollably and try to understand how this can happen to someone so young, financial help would be appreciated.

On behalf of Kel’s family, we have created a Go Fund Me to help the family with expenses.

Please give if you can to help those of us who are grieving and struggling in unimaginable ways.

Louisville Fans are deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless loss of one of one of our would’ve been future players, Mykel Waide. Kel was more than an athlete, he was a son, a role model and scholar who was set to begin his first semester at University of Louisville on Monday.

Please keep his family and our community in your prayers. #AnchorDown #RipKel
