Moriah Schaffer injured in Ridgefield car-deer accident

33-year-old Moriah Schaffer has been hospitalized with serious injuries sustained following a deer-car accident that happened on Monday night, November 29, 2021. The incident happened at approximately 11 p.m. on Interstate 5 near milepost 15 in Ridgefield, Washington.

Preliminary investigation showed that Schaffer was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Sean Holiday, 42, at a high rate of speed into the center median. The vehicle then crashed into deer and a tree.  Medics arrived at the scene and transported Schaffer with serious injuries to an area hospital. Meanwhile, Holiday incurred minor injuries. He was however apprehended on suspicion of driving under the influence and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

The crash remains under investigation.

Ridgefield is a city in northern Clark County, Washington, in the United States. The population was 4,763 at the 2010 census. Located within the Portland metropolitan area, Ridgefield is notable for the significant Native American history and connection to the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
