A crash that occurred in Middletown Thursday morning 14 October 2021 has endangered the life of 10 students.
Authorities confirmed that a pickup truck rear-ended a bus for Middletown schools containing 24 total students board at Central Avenue and North Highview Drive.
They were moved to various hospitals in the area for treatment, according to Shelby Quinlivan, the spokeswoman.
The students are all sixth-graders who attend Highview 6th Grade Center, she added.
The students only sustained minor injuries.
Three of the students were moved to Kettering Health Middletown emergency room, while six students were taken to Atrium Medical Center, all of them are in good conditions, she said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The School officials released a statement:
“Middletown City School District had one of our school buses involved in an accident before school today. The accident occurred on Central Avenue and North Highview Drive. The bus was on the way to Highview 6th Grade Center when it was rear-ended. The bus was carrying approximately 16 students and two drivers. Out of an abundance of caution, multiple paramedics arrived to help evaluate the passengers.”
“We will update you as soon as we receive more information.”
