Melani Carmona Missing: 11-year-old missing girl found

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –  UPDATE: Early Friday morning, Wilkes-Barre police say Carmona has returned home safely.

Earlier: Authorities are growing increasingly worried about the disappearance of a missing girl, and are extremely concerned about her well-being. Authorities in Luzerne County are carrying out a search to locate a missing teenager who did not return home from school.

Wilkes-Barre City Police are asking for help from the public in locating 11-year-old Melani Carmona. Melani is from South Wilkes Barre and is about 5’8” tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

The City Police said the 11-year-old girl went to school Thursday morning and did not come home. Her parents reported her missing to the authorities.

According to the police, Melani was last seen wearing a grey jacket, jeans, and a pink backpack. They also say she may have walked home from GAR Middle School.
