Megan Banks of Hampton fatally shot inside Hampton home

Megan Banks Death – Cause of Death – The woman who was shot to death inside a home near the downtown area of Hampton Wednesday night, 1st of December 2021, has been identified as 35-year-old Megan Banks, of Hampton. The shooting happened at 11:52 p.m. on the 400 block of Chapel Street, near the West Hampton neighborhood and downtown. Police said they discovered Megan had been struck by gunfire while investigating a nearby residence.

She was later pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigation led the police to believe that Megan had an altercation inside the home when she was shot. The motive and circumstances are under investigation. Authorities said they are not looking for suspects and that they have identified everyone involved. No one has been charged.
