Mark Cohen killed, Mary Angela injured in Hall County, GA car accident

Mark Andrew Cohen Death – Cause of Death : Mark Andrew Cohen, 54, of Flowery Branch, Georgia has died, while Mary Angela Bell, 39, injured following a two-car accident that on Saturday afternoon, December 11, 2021. The crash occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Spout Springs Road south of Williams Road in Hall County, Georgia.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Mary was driving southbound on Spout Springs Road when she crossed the centreline into the northbound lane and crashed into a minivan driven by Cohen. Cohen sustained serious life-threatening injuries from the crash and both he and Mary were transported by medics to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where Cohen died of his injuries.

Both drivers were belted at the time of the crash. Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash. No charges have been made against Mary yet. The crash remains under investigation.

According to his obituary, Cohen graduated from Riverside Military Academy, Gainesville, GA, in 1986. He was a truck driver and also a member of North Gwinnett Baptist Church where he once served on the Deacon board. He was a Boy Scout troop leader, loved the outdoors, animals, panning for gold, and spending time at his cabin in North Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home.
