Margaret Herbig, George Herbig died in two-car accident on Westport Road

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified 76-year-old Margaret Herbig and 82-year-old George Herbig as the couple Louisville that lost their lives in a two-car accident that happened on Westport Road at Ambridge Drive around 5 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2021 in eastern Jefferson County.

According to report, the crash happened in the 4500 block of Westport Road, near Watterson Expressway when the driver of an SUV that was attempting to negotiate a left turn from Ambridge Drive onto eastbound Westport Road collided with a passenger vehicle that was driving westbound on Westport Road.

Margaret and George who were the SUV occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, while passenger vehicle driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
