According to Marco Murillo Jr.’s mother, Lorena Lopez, he was getting food at the Chick-fil-A located near 7th and Flower streets on Wednesday night when another group of kids attacked him. After being stabbed, he was taken to the hospital immediately. After some time had passed, he passed away. Alexis Lopez, the boy’s aunt, described her nephew Marco as a “good kid” who possessed “good intentions and a good soul.” His mother says there’s no indication her son knew the others involved in the attack. According to Lorena Lopez, who spoke to journalist, “As far as I know my son’s never seen these guys a day in his life,” “These gentlemen are unknown to my child. I’ve never seen them.”
Suspect was detained
