Man killed in West Woodley Square shooting

West Woodley Shooting – Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a man dead on West Woodley Square Sunday evening at about 6:15 p.m., according to the Montgomery Police Department.

The Montgomery police Capt. Saba Coleman said officers and fire medics were called to the 2200 block of West Woodley Square Sunday at approximately 6:15 p.m. on a shooting report. Arriving officers located a man, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound at the scene.

The unidentified man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators with the department are working to understand a possible motive in the incident. No possible suspect description was immediately released. The man’s identity is being withheld until next of kin notification.

Investigation remains active.
