Man killed in robbery related shooting near Magnolia Cemetery

Justin Henry Death : Authorities say a shooting at the early hours of Thursday near Magnolia Cemetery has left a man dead.

The incident happened at 1840 Gayosa Street, just between 18th and 19th Streets, a few blocks north of Magnolia Cemetery at about 4:50 a.m. Responding officers located the victim 33-year-year-old Justin Henry suffering from fatal gunshot injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, according to Baton Rouge police.

According to preliminary investigations, the shooting is robbery-related. No suspect information was immediately given, police say the investigation is active.

Baton Rouge Police say the incident marks the city’s third killing over the week.

Kendrick Gibson Death – Cause of Death :

29-year-old Kendrick Gibson was shot dead by a 16-year-old teen following a physical altercation in Chippewa and Linwood streets Tuesday night, Wednesday morning. An unidentified body was found on a walkway by officers, who determined the person died from sustained gunshot injuries in the 500 block of North 24th Street.
