Man injured in Woodbridge Potomac Mills Mall shooting

Investigation is ongoing following a shooting inside Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge, Virginia at mid-day hours of Thursday, according to Prince William County Police.

Officials with the Prince William County Police responded to a shots fired reports at about 3:09 p.m. and located a male victim inside the mall suffering from gunshot injuries. The unidentified male was transported to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigations shows that a man was inside a Fashion Mechanics store shopping when another man got into a physical fight. During the altercation, the male customer retrieved a firearm and fired multiple rounds and struck the other man. Both men fled and the injured man drove to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities said a near buy school, Gar-Field Senior High School was placed on lockdown after dismissal hours due to heave police presence in the area. Investigation is ongoing Anyone with information is asked to contact the department @ 703-7926500.
