Kansas City Death – In the Stonegate Meadows apartment complex in the Riss Lake district of Kansas City’s East Side, one victim was discovered on Tuesday evening inside a car who had been fatally shot, according to police. According to Capt. Leslie Foreman, a KCPD spokesperson, police were initially called at 6:10 p.m. to reports of shooting near the 10000 block of East 42nd Street. Foreman claimed that more specific information was provided as the officers were responding, informing them of a shooting victim about three blocks east.
Victim found with gunshot
The officers found a gunshot victim, identified as a man, inside a car parked in one of the lots at the large apartment complex and started giving first aid right away, according to Foreman. When emergency medical personnel came, they transported him to the hospital in an ambulance, where he was later declared dead. KCPD was in the early stages of the investigation, according to Foreman, who spoke to reporters on Tuesday night at the shooting scene. She exhorted anyone who might have observed anything peculiar or strange to inform detectives.
Foreman stated
“We want to reassure everyone that we are on the scene and conducting an investigation. Our crime scene personnel and detectives are both trained for this. We can do everything, but it’s so much better for a case and so helpful when people come forward, Foreman said, adding that “the big piece… that we really continue to ask for is (the) public’s help.” Tuesday night, detectives combed the neighborhood looking for potential witnesses. Police officers and crime-scene investigators walked through the site, putting evidence markers on the sidewalk and street and photographing a dark gray automobile parked in the apartment complex parking lot where the shooting victim was discovered.
As of Tuesday night, police had no suspect information. According to data kept by The Star, this is the fifth murder in Kansas City in the first month of 2023. The city had a total of 171 homicides last year, making it the second bloodiest year ever recorded.
