Man dead, woman injured in north Sacramento shooting

Officials with the Sacramento Police Departments are investigating after an adult male was killed and a woman injured in a shooting late Monday morning in the city’s northside.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident happened at about 11:50 a.m. in the 700 block of Lampasas Avenue. Officials responded and located two victims a man and woman suffering from gunshot injuries at the scene.

The unidentified duos were was taken to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries some times after. The woman was listed in a stable condition, a second woman sustained graze injuries and was treated and discharged.

Detectives are working to understand a possible motive in the incident. No suspect information was immediately given.

Investigations remain active.
