Death – Latisha Smith Columbia, SC killed in I-20 crash

Latisha Smith Death – Cause of Death: COLUMBIA, SC – A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on I-20 Thursday morning has been identified as Latisha Smith. The incident happened at approximately 3:30 am on Interstate 20 East near mile marker 68.

According to reports, a tractor-trailer was travelling east on Interstate 20 when accidentally struck Latisha Smith. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The driver of the tractor was not injured.

A preliminary result indicates that the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. The crash is under investigation by SC Highway Patrol.

Latisha Smith is a student at Midlands Technical College, where she is pursuing a career as a dental hygienist. She formerly worked for Southeastern Freight Lines and is presently employed as a Waitress/Bartender/Hostess at Two Notch Rd Bar & Grill and as the Bartender Manager at VIBES Bar and Grill.

Latisha Smith obituary and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by her family.
