Nampa Police Department
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of retired Nampa PD Sergeant, Larry Grossman. He passed away from a cardiac event earlier this week. Larry worked at Nampa PD for 12 years, serving in the Patrol Division. During his time at NPD, Larry climbed the ranks to the position of sergeant. In 1983, along with four other NPD officers, Larry attended the FBI Basic SWAT academy. After their graduation, these officers became Nampa Police Department’s first-ever SWAT Team. Larry served with distinction on this team for several years. While at Nampa PD, Larry made many life-long friends and he was at the station as recent as last week, delivering a heartfelt gift to Chief Joe Huff, honoring Idaho’s fallen officers. In his life of service, Larry also worked for the Chubbuck Police Department and Probation & Parole. We send strength and sincere condolences to the Grossman Family. Larry was a good man and he made a difference in our community.
