Daddy passed away yesterday. Even though he was in hospice care, we didn’t expect it yesterday. After Mom came home from Rehab on July 3rd, they had a really good couple of days. We think he had a small stroke and started going downhill rather quickly. On Friday, they declared him in the end stages, but on Saturday his vital signs had improved and even better on Sunday. It was as peaceful a passing as I could ever dream of.
When hospice decided he was end stage, they gave us masks and gowns and such for family to come visit him with Mom’s permission. Corona Quarantine is only lifted in this type of situation, but some family and grandchildren got to spend time with him.
We have not made any arrangements yet, but most likely will plan to have a small family ceremony now and a memorial later.
Mom is doing great. She is very sad, but being so strong. I know her heart is broken.
I tried to notify people privately before a made a public post, but honestly I just can’t concentrate on who I have told and who need to be told. Sorry if I missed you.
Today, I found out my High School Basketball Coach and Pineland School Headmaster Lamar Deaver passed away.
Lots of good memories, but also sad to know he passed.
Heaven gained a good man.
I will never forget one day at basketball practice, Coach Deaver had some of his friends come scrimmage against us.
It was Coach Deaver 6’9” (Stetson U) Bill Pickens 6’9” (Denver Rockets ABA I believe)Ed Creech 6’4” (Professional Baseball Player and Manager) Coach Snyder (former Kansas State Player) 6’5” and Bill Edwards 6’7” against us High School boys. Now, I am guessing on the height, so forgive me if I a little of, but you get the point.
Well, they killed us.
Then after the practice game, Coach Deaver made us run. I though I would die.
RIP Coach Deaver .
More details have not been released about this death, and actual death age and date are yet to confirmed by us. We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
