The crash occurred on Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021, at approximately 9:43 a.m. at the intersection of Skittone Road east of McHenry Avenue and Patterson Road in Modesto, California.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Brandon Garcia-Castro, of Oakdale, was driving a Honda sedan westbound on Patterson Road. Garcia-Castro then stop to make a turn left onto Skittone Road. At the same time, Jackson was driving a Ford SUV behind the Honda at a high speed. She then drifted in order not to rear-end the Honda. The impact of the crash caused the Ford to spin, roll over onto its side, and enter the eastbound lane. A green Chevrolet SUV driven by Cheever then crashed into the right side of the Ford while overturned on its side.

Unfortunately, Jackson suffered serious injuries from the crash and died at the scene, while Cheever was transported with serious internal injuries to the Doctors Medical Center for medical treatment. Garcia-Castro survived the crash with minor injuries.
