Kenzie Matheson, age 59 of St. Patricks Channel has passed away on October 8, 2021. The cause of his death has not been announced to the public.
He was predeceased by his father Donnie (D.W.), Uncles Buddy, Stanley, Arnold, and Aunt Sadie Beeson. Kenzie leaves to mourn his beloved life partner Dori Delaney.
Matheson was born in Baddeck, N.S., and was a true son of Cape Breton.
Kenzie graduated from UCCB with a degree in Construction Technology and Civil Technology. He was a member of TANS, Victoria County Truckers Association, SANS, TechNova Certified Technology Professionals, Sircom Lodge #66, and the Shriners.
Kenzie was popularly known as a successful businessman who, with his father D.W. and brother Sheldon built roads, crushed and blasted armor stone, cleared harbors, and moved churches in every corner of the Island. These means provided employment and stability to the community of Little Narrows which he loved so dearly.
Kenzie will be remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community building.
He is survived by his long-standing life partner Dori Delaney, his loyal companions Parker & Brigus, loving mother Anna (Ross) Matheson, brother Sheldon (Michele), nephews Bauer and Wren niece Eilish, Baddeck, uncles Allister, Blues Mills, Roy (Marybelle) Little Narrows, Aunts Jennie MacLean (Baddeck), Marion MacRae (Middle River), many of his beloved cousins.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of MacAskill Funeral Home Baddeck, N.S., with a Graveside Service at Little Narrows Cemetery on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. for family and friends with Margie MacIntyre LLWL officiating.
