Kallista Segura AZ, sophomore at UA dies in Tucson solo-car accident – GoFundMe

Kallista “Zoomy” Rayanne Segura Death – Cause of Death :  19-year-old Kallista Rayanne Segura from Tucson, Arizona has passed away following injuries suffered from a solo-car accident that happened in Tucson, Arizona. According to officials, the high-speed accident that claimed the life of Segura and injured five others happened at the wee hours of Sunday morning, December 5, 2021, at approximately 3 a.m. at the intersection of South Mission Road and West Starr Pass Boulevard on Tucson’s west side.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Ford Fusion with five occupants was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to make a curve on nearing the intersection of  Mission Road and crashed into a traffic signal pole. Following the collision, Segura sustained serious blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle and two other passengers with transported in critical condition to Banner University Medical Center. while two other passengers received treatment at the scene of the crash for minor injuries.

Kallista was a sophomore at the University of Arizona. The University of Arizona is a public land-grant research university in Tucson, Arizona. Founded in 1885 by the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature, it was the first university in the Arizona Territory.

Gabriela Bernal who launched a GoFundMe to support her family with her funeral expenses said, Kallista was the light of her mother’s eyes and the inspiration of the whole family and she had high hopes and many dreams for a bright future.

“Kallista, our beautiful girl was taken away too soon. A sophomore at the University of Arizona with high hopes and many dreams for a bright future. She was the light of her mother’s eyes and the inspiration of the whole family. Zoomy as known by many brought home so much happiness and lightened up a room with only her smile.

Unfortunately last night her mother and siblings were left in much pain. Their bright star has turned dim and mom needs our help. Let’s unite and help this family alleviate a bit of the burden”. Sophomore at the University of Arizona.

Kallista’s cause of death is still unknown at this time. Our heartfelt condolences are with her family.
