Joustin Chavez Missing: Search for missing South Florida man has come to an end
According to a report reaching us at this time, the U.S. Coast Guard announced Sunday morning that the search for 26-year-old Joustin Chavez who was last seen Friday has sadly come to an end after his body was found.
Jouston a Herndon, Virginia man reported missing Friday night was found Saturday night in the Miami River, the U.S. Coast Guard said Sunday morning.
The body of 26-year-old Joustin Chavez was found in waters off Brickell Avenue and north of the Rickenbacker Causeway around 7 p.m. by the Miami Fire Rescue.
Deputies said the 26-year-old man was last seen boarding a boat on Friday night at Miami Marine Stadium. He was last seen by his sister getting on a vessel at Miami Marine Stadium with plans to arrive in the 1800 block of Northwest 24th Avenue via the Miami River.
He was reported missing by his sister around 8 Friday night after finding he wasn’t on their charter boat when it left from the Northwest 24th AVenue location.
Multiple agencies, including Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade police, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and City of Miami Fire crews, spent 23 hours searching for Jouston.
The body of 26-year-old Joustin Chavez was found in the waters north of the Rickenbacker Causeway at approximately 7 p.m. Saturday.
It has not been confirmed if the family of the deceased has been told about the discovery and we hope they can tell them soon what happened for complete closure.
