It is with heavy hearts that The Urbana Fire Division must inform you of the passing of Firefighter Joseph Hester from an off-duty vehicle accident. This is a tragic loss for our division, please keep his family and each other in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In the last 24hrs the Public Safety community has had a huge loss, We’ve lost 2 brothers & a sister all tragically too soon.
Urbana Fire Division – Urbana, Ohio Brother Joseph Hester in a motorcycle crash.
Champaign Countywide 911 Center Sister Chelsey Baumann in a motorcycle crash.
Paramedic/Instructor Tim Detwiler from Urbana, Ohio. Tim was diagnosed last year with cancer & taken away too quickly. Tim & his Wife Tammy have taught 1000s of EMS Providers all over Ohio, many who have excelled in all aspects of EMS and currently working locally & several throughout the United States.
All of you will be dearly missed & Prayers going out to all your families through this tough time.
Joseph Hester, can’t believe you are gone. Great teammate and great guy. You will be missed. Your family is in my thoughts. I will always remember you putting us into the championship after what…50 rounds (keeps getting longer) of a shootout. RIP Joe.
Along with the Urbana Fire Division and the family of Joseph Hester please keep the Champaign County Dispatch family in your prayers as they also lost Chelsey Jordan last night. Prayers going out to Chelsey’s family, and young children.
Chelsey it was a pleasure knowing you as a friend throughout high school, training you at the center, and having you as a coworker some of my time there. You were a kind soul, and the world is a little bit darker with you gone. Rest Easy. We’ve got watch from here.
