Jose Salcedo Death – On Saturday, January 14, a hit-and-run accident in the 1000 block of Gale Road in Davison Township resulted in the death of an Attica man who was 23 years old. The police in Davison Township continue to investigate this incident. Jose Salcedo, a father of two children and a former student at Imlay City High School, has been identified as the victim in this incident. Officers from the Davison Township Police Department were the first to arrive at the scene on Friday morning (January 13) after receiving a 911 call.
Location of the incident
The original 911 caller claimed to the police that he had observed someone walk through a field approaching an automobile with its hazard lights flashing on Interstate 69. The police reported that this information was provided by the caller. The officers that arrived on the site spoke with two passengers, both of whom stated that Salcedo, the driver, had gone to get oil. His family reported him missing to the authorities after they did not see him return home as expected. It wasn’t until early Saturday morning that a mail carrier noticed a body lying in a ditch in front of 1068 Gale Road and immediately dialed 911 to report the incident.
Maribel Rodriguez stated
After conducting an investigation, the authorities came to the conclusion that the guy who had passed away was Salcedo. The police suspect that Salcedo was attacked sometime during the early morning hours of Friday, between the hours of 6:15 and 7:15. Maribel Rodriguez, Salcedo’s girlfriend, is said to have arrived at the site shortly after he did, as reported by the police. “I ran to go see him, see if he was there,” Maribel said in the police report. “The cop stopped me and told me he passed.”
The Davison Township Police Department is asking the general public for assistance in identifying and locating the driver who was responsible for the death of Salcedo after he was struck by a vehicle.
