Jonathan Yip died in Moorpark two-car accident

Jonathan Yip Death – Cause of Death : On Monday afternoon, November 15, 2021 in Moorpark, 23-year-old Jonathan Yip, of Moorpark passed away suddenly and unexpectedly following a two-car accident that happened on Grimes Canyon Road in Moorpark, California.

According to officials, YIP was a front seat passenger in a Toyota driven by 23-year-old John Queen, of Oxnard heading northbound approximately 3 p.m. on Grimes Canyon Road when the car collided head-on with a Peterbilt semi-tractor-trailer operated by 61-year-old Los Angeles man.

The incident happened in Meadowglade Drive when Queen who failed to negotiate a curve veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the semi that was towing a dump trailer. The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to burst into flames, the fire was later extinguished by Ventura County firefighters.

Both Yip and Queen were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash while a 59-year-old Moorpark man who was a back seat passenger in Toyota was extricated by emergency responders and was transported with serious injuries to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center. Meanwhile, the semi driver was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Moorpark-area CHP office at 805-553-0800.
