Jona Renee McKenzie of Montevallo, killed a shooting in Birmingham

Jona Renee McKenzie Death – Cause of Death – On Monday, 6th of December 2021, Jona Renee McKenzie, 31, of Montevallo was shot to death in Birmingham, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said in a release. The police were alerted by ShotSpotter about a single gunshot sound around 5 p.m. on Monday in the 800 block of 44th St. North. Upon arrival, they found McKenzie fatally wounded by gunfire.

Reports states that McKenzie was shot in the head and was transported to UAB Hospital, where she later died of her injuries. No arrests have been announced in the case. AL.COM said in a news release that McKenzie was one of eight people killed in Birmingham between Friday morning and Monday night.
