John Nolan death – Cause of death, Melbourne: John Nolan, a former guitarist for Powder Monkeys and Bored and a recent member of Powerline Sneakers passed away. According to sources, a family member found him dead in his home in Melbourne, Australia. On Monday, December 13, 2021, Bored shared the news of his passing on their official Facebook page.
While announcing his passing, Bored wrote that “It’s a sad day to learn of the death of another member of our group, John Nolan. His musical talents will be remembered forever. Rest In Peace brother. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
Nolan rose to fame in the mid-1980s, in Geelong band beyond the Magnolia Curtain and went on to the twin-guitar line-up of Bored. Nolan and Tim Hemensley who was Bored bassist also known as ex-GOD left Bored In 1991 and set up the Powder Monkeys, which became one of Australia’s most fearsome and infamous outfits. In 2001, he suffered a near fatal asthma attack caused by drug use, while Hemensley died in 2003 at the age of 31 as a result of a drug overdose.
After he recovered, he went to play with the late Spencer P. Jones. Before Nalan passed away, he was playing with ex-Splatterheads vocalist Sly Faulkner, bassist Katie Dixon and drummer Mark Hurst (Yes-Men) in the Powerline Sneakers.
