Joe Englert Death – Dead | Passed Away – Obituary

Joe Englert Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Joe Englert.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

D.C. nightlife as you know it owes a lot to Joe Englert, who for decades left his mark on many of the District’s favorite bars and dives. A longtime friend remembers the prolific businessman who died at 59.

Joe Englert, the visionary behind so much of Washington’s nightlife, including Reliable, passed this morning. His generosity, creativity, and sardonic playfulness inspired so many and helped to make the DC bar and restaurant scene one of the best in the country. RIP to one of the greats. Credit to @josueevilla___ and @washingtonianmag for an image and article that helped to being Reliable together.

My thoughts are with the friends and family of Joe Englert. I didn’t know him but spent my formative years in DC at places he opened. Plenty of hazy dancefloor memories from DC9 and Rock and Roll Hotel, for sure. RIP

My uncle, Joe Englert, has died. Please pray for his soul. After a rough few years, we can only hope he asked for & recieved God’s mercy in his last moments.

Also prayers for his parents & loved ones.

& thanks to those whose tributes I’ve seen here.#Catholic #DC #WashingtonDC

My heart is broken. Joe Englert was a great friend for 40 years. We met at Penn State, moved to DC at the same time and remained friends since. He was a visionary who believed anything was possible if you worked for it. He was always there for me. Joe, you will be missed.

I’m speechless. Joe Englert was a true visionary. My heart goes out to his boys. Joe helped my sister and I start the Toledo Lounge–he was our mentor and an original partner. He was original and amazing. RIP Joe.

Joe Englert was a force of nature, whether blowing in with plans for 8 theme bars on H Street, or blowing shut the doors of the Argonaut. (Also, I first met my spouse at the 15 Minute Club in 1994.) Check this 2005 @wcp article on “Englertrification.”

A few words from our owner Matthew Weiss on the passing of Joe Englert, a DC nightlife icon who worked together with him on multiple projects over two decades. Rest in peace, Joe.

I’m saddened to learn that Joe Englert passed away. He had more than a few detractors, and had sort of faded from view lately, but he did a lot make DC nightlife what it is today. My first industry job in DC was at Joe’s 15 minute club.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
