Who Was Jessica Maclean ?
After graduating St. FX with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012, Jess combined her love of nursing with travel as she went to work as a Registered Nurse in different locations across Canada, including 7 communities in Canada’s Nunavut Territory and Calgary before deciding her heart was in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where she worked as a Registered Nurse with Mental Health and Addictions. Jessica’s wanderlust brought her to numerous countries in Europe and South East Asia as well as visiting the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the United States.
As everyone knows, she leaves behind the pride & joy of her existence, families and friends. Her loss will have a significant impact on our entire college community. Olivia’s commitment to her loved ones and her love of learning has forever positively impacted the lives of many.
We ask that you uplift her parents and close family and friends in prayer during this time. She has left an impact on the lives of many and a legacy that will live on for many years.
The little reminders that cause tears today will turn into little reminders that make us sad and then those little reminders will eventually make us smile and remember Olivia just as she would have wanted us to-with love, a grin and maybe a cold one.
She was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. She had a calming presence and was extremely kind, she touched the hearts of so many, and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Jessica dedicated her career to helping those struggling with mental health issues and related addictions. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Jessica’s name to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia by visiting www.mentalhealthns.ca/donate.
