Jerrica Speed identified as driver in Benton fatal crash

Jesse Espino Death – On Tuesday, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office was able to determine the identity of the person who passed away as a result of the fatal collision that occurred last week in Fresno between a car and a pickup truck. Clovis resident Jesse Espino, 35 years old, was reportedly the person who died after a pickup truck smashed into a car he and another person were in at the intersection of First Street and McKinley Avenue, and then drove away from the site of the accident.

According to the officers, the driver of the car in which the victim was traveling sustained injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. According to the Fresno Police Department, the driver of the suspect car, a 33-year-old man named Shane Lee Shahan, was apprehended close to the intersection of Fresno Street and McKinley Avenue. Following his crossing of Highway 41, the police report that he became entangled in a fence.

On Tuesday at around 4 p.m., a 38-year-old Firebaugh woman died after crashing her 2003 Toyota into an irrigation canal at Colorado and Levee roads. Despite the attempts of a male passenger in the automobile, Yolanda Arias passed away, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP investigation states that Arias lost control of the vehicle on the wet road near Tranquillity and slammed into a water-filled irrigation canal. Before help arrived, the 42-year-old passenger pulled Arias from the truck. She was, nonetheless, declared dead at the spot.

The victim may have been going too fast for the road conditions, according to the CHP. The Firebaugh man who perished on Christmas Eve after colliding with a different canal was also recognized on Tuesday by the Fresno County Sheriff-Office. Coroner’s Jarod Elsdon, 29, allegedly drove his car into a canal in Mendota close to Highway 33 and Bass Avenue, according to the sheriff’s office. According to the CHP, Elsdon crashed into a guardrail while operating a Jeep Cherokee at an unknown speed at 9:00 a.m. After that, the Jeep tipped over in the canal. Along with him, Elsdon’s dog perished in the collision.
