Jeff Neel of Boulder Creek killed in crash on Highway 30 near milepost 23

Jeff Neel Death – Cause Of Death: PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) 60-year-old Jeff Neel of Boulder Creek, Calif. has passed away after he was struck and killed by a Honda Odyssey driver on Saturday 11th December 2021 in Columbia County. According to the Oregon State Police, that crash took place on Highway 30 near milepost 23 at about 9:03 p.m.

Police said Jeff Neel was attempting to cross the highway on his bike when he was struck by an 83-year-old Honda Odyssey driver identified as Katharine Settle of Columbia City. Police responded to the crash and located Jeff with severe injuries to his body, officials said he was not having any reflective clothing and revealed that his bike was not having light.

Jeff was declared a the scene, the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and played along with the police. Hwy 30 was shut down for approximately 3 hours after the crash took place.
