Veteran Broomfield Police Department Commander, Justin “Jay” Richard Johnson has died. Jay passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the age of 57.
“Jay was a devoted husband and a dedicated father. He was very involved in Logan and Cooper’s sports and loved going to watch their games. Over the years, the boys played baseball, soccer, football, basketball, and lacrosse. Jay’s locker at the police department was covered from top to bottom with pictures of his boys in sports uniforms throughout the years.”
“Johnson is survived by his sons, Logan and Cooper; his mother, Karen Johnson; his mother-in-law, Janet Liming; his sister, Misti Johnson; and his brother-in-law, Kevin Horton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Johnson; and his father, Richard Johnson.”
