This is my first Chief, he gave me my start in policing, he was a cops cop, he had our back 1000%, he was a great friend and mentor. We spoke 2 weeks ago, I can’t believe he’s gone. I’m going to miss you, love you pal. It is with the deep sadness that the Runnemede Police Department reports that retired Chief James Leason passed away on 5/4/21. He faithfully served the Runnemede residents from 1974 -2004. Chief Leason was promoted to Police Chief in 1987 and retired in 2004. He is survived by his wife Karen and 5 children.
