This October 3, 2020, passed away in Bangkok at 80 a great friend of mine when I was a young journalist.
Jacques Bekaert was a talented Belgian journalist. He was one of those who coordinated the weekly La Relève with Françoise Collin.
He was one of the columnists of Marc Moulin and Marc Francart’s King Kong show, featuring Marc Rombaut.
As a musician, he dedicated a book to John Cage. His band ′′ Transition ′′ focused on contemporary music and improvisation. They participated artists as talented as Michel Herr, Philip Catherine or… Marc Moulin.
To pay tribute to him, I found two articles I published about him: the smallest in Bonne Evening, April 21, 1974, and the longest in TéléMoustique, July 16, 1971.
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
