Husband, wife and father-in-law killed in El Paso car accident

David Valles, 69, Elia DelaCruz Valles, 67, and a yet to be identified 90-year-old man have lost their lives in a two-car accident that happened Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 2021. on the Lower Valley intersection. The crash occurred at about 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of North Loop Drive and Lee Trevino Drive in El Paso, Texas. They were occupants of a Subaru that collided with a semi-truck.

According to officials, David Valles was operating a 2020 Subaru Outback at a high rate of speed with Elia and a 90-year-old man as passengers when he ran a red light and sideswiped a semi-truck operated by Daniel Barrio Baray, 59, of Midland that had made a left turn from eastbound lanes on North Loop onto Lee Trevino. The impact of the collision ejected one of the Subaru occupants from the car while two of the occupants were trapped in the car.

Firefighters extricated both victims from the car with help of jaws of life. All three Subaru occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. While Baray was hospitalized with minor injuries.

In a Facebook post, Fernie Herrera wrote “David Valles class of 71 May he Rest In Peace along with his wife and father in law”.

The crash remains under investigation.
