Today I share the grief of countless colleagues, friends, and fans who may not even know who they were a fan of, one of our Titans, Herman Binge. For me and for so many he was a mentor, employer, and provider of opportunities. That’s not even mentioning what a superb Producer of drama, comedy, documentary, variety, and film he was. Under his business acumen lay a shrewd creativity; a real knack for spotting talent and nurturing it to fruition. At a time when it was almost impossible to consistently produce local content, whether in Afrikaans or English out of Cape Town, he managed to stick it out with a few select others and made it happen, somehow.
Herman Binge’s obituary and funeral service will be organized and announced by the family.
