Harry Huffman FedEx driver dies in Orange County multi-car accident

Harry Franklin Huffman Death – Cause of Death : 72-year-old FedEx driver, Harry Franklin Huffman, of Lewisburg, West Virginia has died in a multi-car accident that happened on Tuesday morning. The three-car crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on November 30, 2021, at the intersection of Interstate  40/85 and Buckhorn Road near Mebane in Orange County.

According to State Highway Patrol, the incident happened northbound Interstate 40/85 near Buckhorn Road near Mebane when Huffman was operating a FedEx truck while 28-year-old Dashaun Tervarrius Hill Richardson, of, Mebane was trying to make a lane change into the lane that was already occupied by a car driven by 47-year-old Coretta Kristine Allen, of Burlington.

As Richardson was trying to change lanes, his car sideswiped Allen’s car. The impact caused Allen’s car into the path of Huffman’s truck. After the collision, Huffman lost control of the truck and it veered off the roadway and rolled over. Huffman sustained serious injuries to which he succumbed to at the scene of the crash.

On the other hand, Richardson did not sustain any injuries while Allen incurred minor injuries. Charges have not to be filed.

Investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call State Highway Patrol at 919-733-3861.

Harry Franklin Huffman’s obituary will be released by his family.
