Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

Sad to hear of the passing of Guy Mendenhall.
I was lucky enough to see Guy whenever North Tower would play in the Cary area as well as lots of other music events.
We’d always talk about the Enloe days, my brother-in-law Greg Brown and of course Beach Music.
He will be missed.

We lost Guy Mendenhall today. He was a good friend to my parents and hundreds of other Cary folks for many years. He shared train excursions and WWII exhibits with my folks and is seen here at RDU with FiFi as they visited the giant B-29. On other occasions, they road the rails behind steamers of yesteryear.
I caught up with Guy in Chapel Hill in March of 2016 when Cary was playing Charlotte Catholic for the state 4A men’s basketball title. We came close to winning. But, what was more important to me is that old school championship team mates were there to enjoy the competition and the wild Cary crowd. Charlie Adams, Bill and Barbara Rogers, Harold Smith and others from his team and even more from teams Charlie Adams and Charlie Maidon had coached were there as well. Guy not only graduated from CHS, he came back to teach and mentor more Cary kids than we can count.
He was a fine man…he will be long remembered and missed.RIP sir.

Thinking about my Imp family this week. Guy Mendenhall was the ultimate supporter of all things Cary HS. He loved students, teachers, and Cary HS more than anyone ever.

Today is one of the saddest days at Cary High School as we mourn the passing of longtime alum Guy Mendenhall. A member of the State Championship BBall team 1954 & Charter Member of CHS Hall of Fame Class of 1994. His stories will be missed #RIP #Mendenhalled #FirstNeverFollows

Guy Mendenhall was the kindest man. A legend! I always walked away from our interactions wanting to be more like him.

I am grateful to have known Guy Mendenhall for many reasons. Dedicated fan, booster club supporter, role model, performing arts fan, school spirit leader and a walking history book for Cary High. I will miss those old stories my friend.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
