To know my brother is to love my brother. In many ways, Grashino Yancy was an angel on Earth walking amongst us. No, he wasn’t perfect. No, he didn’t make the most sound decisions all the time, but one thing is certain: his heart was ALWAYS in the right place. Grash’s heart was bigger than the smile we’ve all grown to love and my bro had a BIG smile!! He lived life with so much passion and that was expressed in his actions, especially in his love and loyalty for those he cared for. To have Grash in your life was just a blessing and that’s to say the least. What’s beautiful is that he gave his love for free, even to those undeserving. My brother looked past all of that and someway, found a way to see the good in people despite whether or not people saw the good in him, and despite whether or not it was good for him.

This was Grash Fight journey for this lifetime and it came to an end just the way it was meant to. I say that because Grash lived just the life he wanted to, he did what made him happy, he lived without fear, and poured love and happiness into everyone around him. He has always been a fighter ever since he was a child, he always held passion in his heart for what and who he cared about and never hesitated to express that. His favorite dogs were pit bulls because his energy matched that of a pitt: loyal, passionate, protector, and VERY sweet/caring. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a pittbull in one of his past lives 😂.

Although some would say he lived a misguided life, his number one priority was making sure he brought light, love, joy, and laughter into this world. THAT’S what made him happy. from all of the things I’ve read and heard from his friends, it’s clear that he exceeded this purpose. It’s one thing to grow up with your sibling and know them from a family standpoint, it’s another thing to learn who they were from their friends and it brings me happiness to know that my brother chose to always be exactly who he was meant to be to everyone in his life.

To everyone who cared about Grash, I want y’all to know that his energy lives on through all of us ESPECIALLY when we choose happiness and selflessness. That’s what my brother stood for. Grash had his own demons like we all do and found purpose in pouring into others. And y’all know my bro had jokes for days! Certified clown so I asked you all to help keep his spirit happy by cherishing the memories of those funny jokes, that beautiful smile that took all worries away, and his silly-ness. Most importantly, remember that my brother was a FIGHTER and that’s a powerful angel to have in your corner.

Thank you all so much for the outpouring love and condolences. As a family, we ask for privacy and understanding during this time while we make arrangements for what comes next.

Sending love, safety, and peace to you all.
