We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Graham Bailly last week.
Graham had an unwavering and true love of the Lunenburg community. He served on the Lunenburg Marine Museum Society, which operates Bluenose II and the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, for more than 30 years — much of that time as president. His passion and interest in Bluenose II and the museum remained up to the time of his passing.
The FMA & Bluenose II benefited greatly from the hard work and initiatives he helped bring to life during his many years serving on the board. His dedication knew no bounds and his legacy will not be taken for granted.
Our hearts are with his loved ones during this time. The Bluenose family and the Lunenburg community feel this loss — he will be missed beyond measure.
The staff of the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic are deeply saddened by the passing of Graham Bailly. He was made an honorary member of our organization for his longstanding years of dedicated service to our Lunenburg Marine Museum Society Board, and who spent most of those years as our president. We will be forever thankful for his service and will miss his passionate support. Our flags are lowered in remembrance of him. Our heartfelt condolences to the Bailly family.
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
