The Jedi’s Actor Gerald Home has passed away on the 6th of October 2021, at the age of 70. He died due to cancer, according to a Facebook post, posted on the 6th of Oct. at 5:01 p.m.
His death was confirmed through social media.
The Collectors Cantina posted on Facebook saying, “Just saw that Star Wars OT actor Gerald Home passed away this morning at the age of 70 from Cancer.
I had the chance to meet and spend some extended time with Mr. Home at a convention outside Boston several years ago and he was one of the kindest and personable people I have ever met.
RIP good sir, thank you for your talents and time, and may the force be with you… always.”
Gerald was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 18, 1950. He then relocated to Australia alongside his family at 16.
After his education ended in Australia, he spent three years there as an actor and teacher before came backing to the UK to train at The Drama Studio London.
In July 1977, after graduating from The Drama Studio London, he started his career.
He featured in Return of the Jedi, and served as a puppeteer on Little Shop of Horrors, operating Audrey II the flesh-eating plant. His other films include London Boulevard and Hideo Nakata’s Chatroom.
Home also made many television appearances include: Casualty, The Boot Street Band, Spitting Image, Situation Critical, Jenny’s War, Keeping Mum, Harry’s Mad, Time Gentlemen Please, Pay & Display, Paul Dreams of Bette, The Scarlet and the Black and Shane.
Gerald is one of the actors to have appeared in both Light Side and Dark Side characters in a Star Wars film, playing the original Mr. Muscle in the long-running series of television commercials.
He recently was living in London and performed many stage productions there. His voice work includes voice-overs and readings for BBC Radio.
Aside from his acting career, Gerald was also an ex-school teacher who had spoken English, French, German and Spanish.

A fan said, “RIP Gerald Home. You won’t find a friendlier actor! We’ve had several conversations over the years, starting in 2005, and even sent his congratulations when I became a dad. A huge loss for the #StarWars fandom.”
Someone wrote, “GeraldHome has passed away 🙁 Gerald played Tessek and a Mon Calamari in Rotj. He was a true gentleman, and I remember fondly the times we met. In 2015 he met with us (crew from @TeeKay421be) in London.”
