Saddened to hear that Skylab 4 commander Gerald “Jerry” Carr has passed away today. I had the absolute privilege to interview him about his life and career back in 2017. He was an incredible man involved in many incredible moments in spaceflight history:

Astronaut Gerald “Jerry” P. Carr was a true space pioneer. Beyond his vast contributions to the aerospace industry, he actively worked to inspire future generations to follow in his footsteps. Well done Colonel Carr. We will carry on your work.

Today, we remember NASA Astronaut Gerald “Jerry” P. Carr, commander of Skylab 4, who shared a passion for exploration and adventure with our own Pete Conrad. God speed as you fly free Colonel Carr.

Skylab 4 Astronaut Gerald ‘Jerry’ Carr has passed away at the age of 88. A terrific person, who I was privileged to spend time with in the bar and at breakfast. He had a wealth of knowledge and many intriguing stories to tell. Not many Apollo astronauts left now, sadly…

Praying for the Carr & Musick families. America lost another hero. Today we learned of the passing of NASA Astronaut Gerald P. “Jerry” Carr, who was commander of Skylab 4, the third & final manned flight to America’s first space station. Carr was a resident of Houston
