The Twisted Sister family has just lost another member. Frankie Banali, one of the founding members of Quiet Riot has just lost his extreamely brave fight with pancreatic cancer.
Frankie (seen here) filled in for Mike Portnoy at the Las Vegas Metal awards show in 2016. Frankie became, for the day, the 9th drummer to pass through our history. We all shared (in1983 and 1984) one of the greatest eras in the history of metal. Our thoughts go out to his family and to Rudy Sarzo, a QR bandmate and also a dear friend of ours.
This coming on the heels of the death of Pete Way is all too much and too soon.
The music world in general and the metal world in particular mourns the loss of both.
Frankie was an inspiration in his fight to win this and we celebrate his memory tonight with family and friends…
Jay Jay, Dee, Eddie, Mark as well as our agent Danny Stanton who brought Frankie to us for the Las Vegas show. Those memories, only 4 years ago feel like yesterday.

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Frankie Banali. What a great guy, incredible drummer, and what a valiant battle he fought against pancreatic cancer. Rest in peace Frankie. And our love and thoughts go out to his family & friends.
So saddened to hear of the passing of my drumming brother Frankie Banali. Not only a badass drummer but a sweetheart of a guy. He fought an incredibly brave battle against Cancer and his strength and dignity was truly inspiring…Rest In Peace my friend 😢 #RIPFrankieBanali
With a VERY heavy heart I have to share one of the best humans has left us today, my dear friend Frankie Banali! Frankie had been battling pancreatic cancer for some time now, he fought the good fight until the last breath and now he suffers no more.
Frankie was one of those guys who from DAY ONE showed me respect and honor as a peer before we became lifelong friends. We toured together in 1986 (when Quiet Riot and Yngwie did some shows together) and my association with him has since been one with appreciation of calling him my friend!
This is another that will take some time to accept, its one thing when your musical heroes die but another when someone who is simply your hero does! RIP my bro!
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
