Mees de Roo Death – Cause of Death – Mees de Roo has unexpectedly and sadly passed away at the age of 102. The news about the passing of Mees de Roo was publicized in a tweet made by Thomas Van Riet on the 17th of November 2021. Mees de Roo from Son en Breugel, was a former soldier with the KNIL (Royal Dutch East Indies Army). According to ED News, Roo was a professional soldier who lived in the Indies with his wife and children.

He met his wife Nelleke, who later passed away, in 1945 during the liberation celebrations in The Hague. Loved ones have described Roo as a solid scientist and a gentleman, from a generation of supergravity experts that could do computations extraordinarily.

News outlets revealed that after the dissolution of the KNIL, Roo continued to work with the army until 1972 as a cold glass polisher, repairing glass parts of the guns in a tank. He then did cold glass grinding at Philips until his retirement. Mees de Roo’s obituary and funeral arrangement will be released by the family.

Thomas Van Riet said in a tweet; “Very sad news from Groningen U.: Mees de Roo passed away. I was lucky to have him around during my PhD. An example of a modest and solid scientist and a gentleman, from a generation of supergravity experts that could do computations I could never perform correctly. R.i.p. Mees.”
