Fiona Angwin Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Fiona Angwin.

So sorry to hear this evening of the passing of Fiona Angwin. Had the great pleasure of meeting this exceptionally talented lady at Sci Fi Weekender two years ago, and subsequently maintained a happy correspondence.

We have genuinely lost someone very special today and the number of tributes posted to her are testament to this.

Sleep well Fiona, it was an honour and a previlege to call you a friend x

Floored by the passing of Fiona Angwin. A talented author and entertainer with a heart of gold. I’d seen her performing at SFW several times, but it was when she decided to write a horror fantasy book set at “geek camp” that i got to know her. She wanted characters for the cover image, and i was able to help put her in touch with several of The Galactic Knights who, along with several others, could provide what she was after. She even included the Galactic Knights in the story, mentioning Orc Boot Camp and my own Uruk-Hai! We then went on to have several chats, ranging from her reusing some of the characters in another story – she was aware of my PTSD triggers and wanted me to enjoy the story if possible – to whether it was suitable for a friend going through a rough time to read at that point, to her working hard to be an outstanding ally to trans people (she was) and understanding things to be so.
A good soul taken to soon, and one that will be deeply missed by all who got to know her.

Today, I got the sad news that my amazing friend, Fiona Angwin passed away. I have had so many hours of joy because of the support she offered. Together we were thrown out of coffee shops for enthusing too loudly about our latest crazy idea, or love of Sondheim. It’s that enthusiasm for everything that meant seeing Fiona carry on even when she medically probably shouldn’t (see the photo of her rehearsing for an outdoor promenade tour with a boot on her foot as part of surgical recovery). We co-authored a couple of scripts, and founded a theatre company. Without Fiona’s influence or support, I would likely never have struck out and had the opportunity to do the craziest, most wonderful theatrical experiences. I probably wouldn’t have the same career I’ve been fighting to save since the outbreak of covid. I’ll miss the stupidly long phone calls, and like many other will miss a wonderful and supportive friend.

It was with shock and utter devastation this morning that we learned of the passing of our dedicated member and dear, dear friend Fiona Angwin.

A writer, puppeteer, story-teller, and lover of all things theatrical, Fi joined ATG back in 2013 when we reformed, and has since become an integral part of our society. From onstage roles, to directing, serving on committee, and being an all round god-send backstage. If you ever wanted a random prop, Fi was your gal! When she set her mind to it there was nothing she couldn’t do.

She was the very personification of kindness, with never a bad word to say about anybody. Our hearts are broken at this news. Fi is gone far too soon from this world, and left a huge gap that can never be filled. She exuded joy, happiness, and positivity, and the world will be a less bright place without her in it.

Our society grieves together and will miss her more than words could ever express. We send all our love, prayers, and strength to her husband Richard, family and friends.

Fiona, we adore you. May you shine bright up in the stars. God bless you.

The Galactic Knights are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of author and friend Fiona Angwin – Writer. Hugely entertaining author and entertainer we had the pleasure of getting to know through The Sci-Fi Weekender. A lovely personality who always had time to talk, she even did The Galactic Knights the great honour of immortalising us in one of her books and using several of our members as part of the cover image.
We will miss her.

It is with the most enormous sadness that i write this. Today an incredibly creative and wonderful light has gone out. Fiona Angwin, a friend, the person who brought my characters to life in such glorious puppets has passed away. She was truly loved by so many people and she will never be forgotten. Fiona, i hope you are at peace. We miss you already

It is with heavy hearts that we have learned that our dear friend, supporter and contributor, Fiona Angwin, has passed away.

Fi was a brilliant storyteller and performer, and loved delving into stories that took us beyond the limits of our imaginations in her own writing.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Fi’s family and friends, and know that she will live on in her writing and the loving memories we have of her.

We have lost a wonderful lady today and a friend, Fiona Angwin – Writer you will be missed so much, Sci-Fi Weekender will never be the same without you, your stories, your wonderful creations and the support you gave to so many including us here at Blazing Minds.

Sending love and condolences to Richard and all the family at this time.

Heartbroken at the death of my friend, Fiona Angwin. She was kind enough to lend her voice to a few audio plays I wrote and travelled from Wales to record, a 4 hour round trip. She was a huge supporter of the arts and more importantly, artist of all kinds. My love to her family.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
