Feda Almaliti Death – Dead | Obituary – Passed Away

Feda Almaliti Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Feda Almaliti.

We mourn the tragic loss of Feda Almaliti and her son in a house fire early this morning. She was the Vice President of National Council on Severe Autism and the author of a blog as well as an amazing activist on behalf of those on the spectrum and their families.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Feda Almaliti’s passing this weekend. Feda was the giant on whose shoulders many of us stand. Feda was a “passionate” parent and advocate. She is the reason that insurance companies must cover treatment for autism.
We had the opportunity to hear Feda speak in 2018 at the SELPA Legislative Day. Feda was funny, irreverent, and motivational. She talked about taking on the healthcare system and driving real change. She talked about the need for allies in the work.
May her memory be a blessing and inspiration to all those who knew and are mourning her.

The #autism community lost a hero.

Feda Almaliti paved way for soo many families like mine for direct coverage of behavior therapies like ABA which a while back was not covered by medical insurance companies.
A few days ago she and her son tragically passed away.

إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
To God we belong and to Him we return

#heartbroken | One of my very best friends and one of the biggest and boldest #autismadvocates, Feda Almaliti and her son, Mu passed away tragically in a fire this morning. Feda and Mu left such an impression on everyone they met and everywhere they went. Those who met Feda even only briefly are stunned and deeply grieving. To those of you who have reached out, I truly appreciate the connection and love. This is very difficult to process.

Heartbreaking. She, a fierce advocate of autism rights and was interviewed early this year on NPR All Things Considered She recently perished in a fire. She could not get her autistic son out of the house, so she stayed with him. They both left this world together.

We all grieve . 😣❤️ listen, and hear her story
