It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the death of my amazing friend Faye Porterfield. She died suddenly and unexpectedly last Wednesday and I truly cannot believe she is gone. She had such a heart for kids, especially those with special needs. She was the manager of Mollys Pubs – Houston Irish Pubs, and was a powerful force for me behind the success of Molly’s Golf Tournament for the Texas Prader-Willi Association.

Faye was born on August 23, 1968, in Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska to Jack and Emily Porterfield. She moved to Marianna, Arkansas, with her family, where they resided for a few years before settling in Houston, Texas. She was the youngest child of four brothers. She attended Sharpstown High School and was a member of the FHA Club – Future Homemakers of America. After High School, she moved to San Marcos, Texas to attend Southwest Texas, and later came back to Houston, finishing up college at UofH.

She took her first job as a Buyer at Oshmons. After Oshmans, she worked for JCPenney’s and then a few years later, became a Land Appraiser in the real estate industry. She eventually started working at Molly’s Pub in 2006 and became a General Manager, where she ran 18 pubs all around the Houston/Galveston area for 15 years. She is survived by her 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, 8 nieces and nephews, 12 Great Nieces and Nephews.
