Emilee Mullin of Belfast, Maine dies in Damariscotta head-on collision

Emilee Mullin Death- Cause of Death : 23-year-old Emilee Mullin, of Belfast, Maine has passed away following injuries suffered from a head-on collision. The collision happened on Tuesday morning, December 7, 2021, at approximately 11 a.m. on Route 1 in Damariscotta, Lincoln County, Maine. Mullin died of her fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

Preliminary investigation showed that Mullin was driving a 2013 Blue Ford Explorer with a child believed to be hers southbound on Route 1 between Belvedere Road and the bridge over the Damariscotta River when she collided head-on with a 2019 Isuzu box truck driven by 37-year-old Derick Lavigne, of Buxton heading northbound on Route 1.

Following the collision, Mulin suffered life-threatening injuries to which she succumbed to at the scene of the crash. The infant who did not appear to have been injured was transported to LincolnHealth-Miles Campus Hospital for medical evaluation. Meanwhile, Lavigne incurred serious injuries and was taken to Miles and was later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland. The three victims were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Emilee Mullin’s obituary will be released by her family.
