Tributes To Elizabeth Davis
Across social media users’ timelines are statements that show respect, admiration, and gratitude towards Davis as people mourn the passing.
“People say that Facebook friends aren’t really friends. That’s not true. I never got to meet Sharon Lavoie in person. But we spent alot of time on Facebook together and international calls. She was a true friend to me. And today my heart is broken into. Sharon gained her angel wings today. So please keep her husband John Lavoie and family in your prayers. As well as her friends and Facebook friends and family.”
“She had no qualms about expressing that for us. If we got our needs met, that translated to students getting their needs met. Elizabeth had tenacity and bravery in dealing with local and national politicians who had things to say about how she chose to advocate for us. This is a big loss.”
“District public school teachers and local education advocates continue to mourn the loss of Washington Teachers’ Union (WTU) President Elizabeth Davis — one of two victims in a fatal car crash on Easter Sunday.”
“There are no words that I can use to truly capture the sorrow in my heart for the loss of this amazing woman – Elizabeth Davis. She was our DCPS Auntie and our Champion! She fought for teachers and students as an educator and as our WTU President. She would call you back even if it was 10:00 at night to make sure you were okay. She had our backs no matter what. Rest in Power Queen”
