Elderly man dies in Bloomington multi-car accident

77-year-old man dies in a multi-car accident in Bloomington, Indiana 

A 77-year-old man has lost his life following a three-car accident that happened Sunday night, November 28, 2021. The three-car accident that claimed the life of the man happened around 9:15 p.m. in the 4400 block of East 3rd Street, near South Park Ridge Road in Bloomington, Indiana.

According to officials, the 77-year-old man was driving a 2004 Lexus passenger car before crashing into an oncoming vehicle which triggered a collision with another vehicle. Bloomington firefighters arrived at the scene of the crash and extricated the man who was trapped in his car after breaking the window of the car. After the man was extricated from the car, he was found to be unresponsive.

Life-saving measures were performed on him before he was transported via ambulance to a hospital. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital after succumbing to his injuries.

Circumstances surrounding the collision were not made known. Investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
