Last of my mother’s brothers joined the team. Edmond Kiraz joined the stars up there. I can hear them laughing and protecting us from above. A page is torn from our family in this world to be reunited up there. Goodbye funny guy.

Famous dessinateur Kiraz ′′ Edmond Kirazyan ′′ silently said goodbye to life at the age of 96 I remembered especially with the dessin’s in Jours de France, I don’t know if you remember his lineup. I didn’t know that he was born in Egypt and settled in France with his family at the age of 22

Just learned with sadness about the death of illustrator Edmond Kiraz (1923). He was 96 years old. There was a time when their fresh, elegantly stylized and intelligent young girls flooded the pages of magazines as prestigious as those of ′′ Gala “, ′′ Jours de France “, ′′ Glamour “, ′′ Play Boy ′′ or the English edition of ′′ Vogue ′′ magazine. This cartoonist’s style marked a whole generation of illustrators. Her contemporary style continues to inspire many contemporary artists like Jordi Labanda. His last works date back to 2005. Of all of them my favorites were undoubtedly those who respond to the series on ′′ Les Parisiennes ′′. Kiraz reflected in his drawings faithfully the prevailing fashion, setting himself to achieve his goal in the young girls he crossed across the street. His Parisiennes have starred in advertising campaigns for brands like Renault or Nivea. Faithful to the spirit of Paris that characterized them, the young girls of Kiraz were absolutely timeless in their femininity, and disconcerting in their ever-present reflections. In 2008, the Carnival Museum in Paris organized a retrospective exhibition of all its work. R.I.P. 🖤💔🖤 #kiraz #lesparisiennes #illustrateur

Edmond Kiraz, one of my favorite illustrators, passed away yesterday. Inspired by other great illustrators such as Jordi Labanda, Bruxe Timm, Shag, … I remember looking for his illustrations every time a “Hello” fell into my hands. D.E.P.

Homage to Edmond Kiraz and his dear Parisiennes.
Born in Cairo died in Paris 6th 96 years old, Kiraz was of Armenian origin.
Thanks to his exceptional talents as a designer, he began his professional career at the age of 17, and never took artistic courses!

Edmond #Kiraz died today. I remember during my childhood that I was struck by that characteristic line in his vignettes in the “Hello” of Máter, back in the penultimate ice age. Creator of the genre minidrama in illustration. #RIP

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
