From SUNY Adirondack President Kristine Duffy, Ed.D.:
Ed Bartholomew, a strong college supporter and champion for this community, passed away yesterday after a short illness. As the standing CEO of the Warren County Economic Development Corp. and former Glens Falls mayor, Mr. Bartholomew — seen here at the college’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Seasoned facility downtown — was a true public servant, mentor to many and a tireless advocate for a better community.

Our hearts go out to his family and wide range of colleagues, friends and supporters.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Ed Bartholomew’s passing. We had the pleasure of working with Ed for many years and were fortunate to experience his light and passion firsthand. His dedication to our community was an inspiration and we will remember him fondly. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and the Economic Development Corp., Warren County, NY team.

A sad day for our community. The Queensbury Hotel, our city and our region has lost a great leader, a great mentor and a great friend.

Ed Bartholomew, a graduate of Glens Falls High School, was the former Mayor of Glens Falls from 1978-1985 (entering office at the young age of 28) and currently was the President of the Warren County EDC.

He was a true champion for Glens Falls, dedicating most of his life to the betterment of our city and making it what it is today. We will forever be grateful for the support he provided over the past 4 years during our revitalization and rebirth of The Q.

To his family, we offer our sincere condolences. He left his mark on our city, he will be remembered and he will be greatly missed.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
